Education & Experience
Dr. Oliver brings a wealth of experience to Oyster Orthodontics, with a background in general dentistry and specialized orthodontic training from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the nation’s top orthodontic programs.
Before pursuing orthodontics, Dr. Oliver earned his dental degree at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and was selected for the U.S. Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program.
His Air Force career took him from an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the U.S. Air Force Academy to serving as a Captain at Aviano Air Base in Italy, where he provided dental care to active-duty military members.
Following his service overseas, he completed his orthodontic residency at UNC-Chapel Hill, gaining extensive training in Invisalign, traditional braces, and orthognathic (jaw) surgery, as well as experience treating craniofacial (cleft lip/palate) patients.
Memberships & Associations
Dr. Oliver is actively involved in the orthodontic community, serving as President of the Alabama Association of Orthodontists. He also continues his service in the Air Force Reserves, providing dental exams for military members at Kessler Air Force Base.
Outside the Office
Dr. Oliver and his wife, Louise, are thrilled to be back on the Gulf Coast, where Louise grew up. Together with their three children, Andrew, Coleman, and Ruthie, they love spending time outdoors, from hiking and skiing to enjoying Mobile Bay sunsets with family.
A passionate traveler, Dr. Oliver has visited over 40 countries and even practiced dentistry in Italy for three years. He also enjoys cycling, running, and exploring new places with his extended family.
